Trattoria Za’Za’

I suspect this is The Most Recommended restaurant in all of Florence. Several people who have been to Florence call this their favorite place. Online restaurant reviews usually give this place very high marks, though some people will comment that it seems very touristy.

I had seen this trattoria online and walked to it easily—it’s just steps away from my hotel. First day here and I’m exhausted, so it’s seems like an early dinner (followed by an early bedtime!) at a very local place is just the ticket.

I asked to sit indoors. I didn’t realize what that meant! Instead of being in the windowed section that looks over the piazza, I was shown to one of the many rooms inside the big building. And it was gorgeous.

I totally enjoyed the cheese platter plus a sampler of 3 soups. So good, but couldn’t even finish it. And I treated myself to a nice glass of Chianti. (Sorry, no food pics! I forgot!)

Daughter-in-law Tina was here many years ago. I sent her the picture of the room where I dined. She didn’t think it looked familiar. So I took pics of other parts of this very interesting restaurant.

And I bought the Italian version of their cookbook. Yum. Come over, I’ll cook you some soup! 😄
